Ligue 1 side Marseille reportedly want to sign Moussa Dembele from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic, and Germain could be involved in a deal.

The Scottish transfer window shuts at midnight on Friday and it remains to be seen whether Moussa Dembele is still a Celtic player come September.
It is no secret that Marseille have spent the summer scouring the market for a marquee striker signing and it seems that they have now settled on the France U21 centre-forward. According to France Football, Marseille could be willing to offer a player-plus-cash deal in order to bring Dembele to Ligue 1.
Marseille signed Valere Germain from rivals Monaco just last summer for £9 million (L’Equipe). The hard-working centre-forward struggled at times in his debut season at the Stade Velodrome, although he did net 18 goals in 55 games in all competitions.
And it is now being reported that Rudi Garcia’s side would be willing to offer Germain in addition to a sum of money, somewhere in the region of £18 million, in order to tempt Celtic into selling Dembele.

It remains to be seen how Brendan Rodgers’ side would respond to a rather generous offer. Germain, at 28, is not the typical Celtic signing, but he does have plenty of experience in top level football and would bring wily movement and physicality to the Hoops’ attack.
He scored 17 goals for Monaco in 2016/17 as the principality club won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
