Wes Foderingham was described by Mark Warburton as ‘first-class’ at Rangers but will they work together at Nottingham Forest?

When Mark Warburton resurfaced at Nottingham Forest just a few weeks after being shown the door by Rangers, it was somewhat inevitable that a number of his former players would be tipped to make the move south of the border.
And, according to the Daily Record, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham could be one of the first names on his list if he attempts to raid the Ibrox giants in the summer.
The 26-year-old is arguably one of the few players in the current Rangers squad capable of plying his trade in the second tier of English football, having silenced any remaining doubters with a series of virtuoso performances this season.
Foderingham, who Warburton brought to Rangers just a month after he was appointed as manager in June 2015, remains the club’s undisputed number one despite the arrival of Jak Alnwick from Port Vale in January.
Therefore, current Gers boss Pedro Caixinha will be hoping the former Swindon Town shot-stopper is not swayed by the prospect of a reunion with Warburton at the City Ground, the Daily Record adds.

Though it would be no surprise if Warburton did make Foderingham one of his top summer priorities. The Forest manager described his key man as a ‘first-class keeper’ after bringing him to Scotland and even tipped him to earn an England call-up, Herald Scotland reports.
And while that prediction looks unlikely to come true, Foderingham would appear to be the obvious solution to Forest’s problem position.

The much-maligned Vladimir Stojkovic is expected to leave in the summer, meaning the Championship strugglers need some support for inexperienced youngster Jordan Smith.
Therefore, Foderingham fits the bill.
