Josh Cullen has played just three Premier League games for West Ham United but he’s shone on loan at Charlton Athletic in League One.

Manuel Pellegrini will give Josh Cullen a chance to impress in pre-season as the midfielder looks to force his way into the West Ham United first team, according to the Standard.
The 23-year-old joined the Hammers’ famous academy at the age of nine, no doubt hoping to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Rio Ferdinand.
So far, however, Cullen has made just nine appearances for the London giants, three of those coming in the Premier League.
But he has made a real impression on loan at Charlton Athletic, helping The Addicks reach the League One play-offs with his influential performances in the centre of the park earning him plenty of admirers.
“He’s better than I was [at that age],” Charlton manager Lee Bowyer, who played for West Ham himself once upon a time, told the club’s website in September.

“He’s a young lad that can play football and gets into the box. He’s an all-around midfielder.”
Now, The Standard reports that Cullen will be handed a long-awaited chance at his parent club. Pellegrini is apparently keen to see what he has to offer in pre-season with Cullen lined up for a potential promotion to the senior squad.
Cullen could add some bite in a midfield which has looked a little lightweight at times this season.
