It will shock nobody to learn that Valencia are not exactly jumping at the chance to make Mangala’s loan move permanent.
Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala will not make his loan move at Valencia permanent as the Spanish club cannot afford his price tag, talkSPORT report.
Pep Guardiola took little time to dispense with a defender who has underperformed consistently since arriving for a monstrous £32 million from Porto, according to the BBC, with a horrendous own goal against Hull City on his second appearance for City setting the tone for the rest of his Etihad career.
Consequently, like Joe Hart, Mangala was shipped out on loan in the summer, with La Liga crisis club Valencia taking him for the season.

However, Los Che, who have suffered badly due to a lack of funds in recent years, contributing to the sales of David Silva, Juan Mata, Paco Alcacer and co, are unable to afford the £30 million required to make the French international’s deal permanent at the end of the season, talkSPORT report.
This means City are going to have to find another way to cut ties with one of the most disastrous Premier League signings in recent years, although, in Mangala’s defence, he has appeared more solid in Spain recently, as opposed to the mistake-a-minute displays that characterised his time in England.

However, although Vincent Kompany’s injury issues are showing no signs of abating, it seems unlikely that Guardiola will give a second chance to a player who is simply not consistent or reliable enough for a title-challenging side.
