League One Sunderland appear set to announce their next summer signing, with Luke O’Nien reportedly arriving from Wycombe Wanderers.

It has been a busy summer so far for a Sunderland side aiming to put an end to one of the worst periods in the club’s history.
Jack Ross’s side has brought nine new players into their first-team squad with the likes of Dylan McGeouch, Jerome Sinclair and Glenn Loovens arriving to strengthen a club that finished bottom of the Championship next season.
Jack Baldwin and Charlie Wyke are also expected to arrive from Peterborough and Bradford respectively.
And it seems that another signing is on his way.
On Friday, the Chronicle reported that Sunderland had agreed a fee with Wycombe Wanderers to sign the midfielder Luke O’Nien.

The former Watford youngster scored nine and set up four more as Wycombe sealed promotion to League One last season and he now looks set to be rewarded with a big move to the Stadium of Light.
The Chronicle is now reporting that O’Nien is on his way to Wearside and the move could be confirmed today.
The 24-year-old has been playing for Wycombe for the last three years and blossomed into one of the most impressive attacking midfielders in the lower leagues. It will be interesting to see whether he can make the step up to Sunderland.
