Crystal Palace reportedly wanted to loan Marko Grujic from Premier League giants Liverpool but the Serbian midfielder is now set for Cardiff City instead.

Crystal Palace are a little short of central midfielders after bidding farewell to last season’s loan star Ruben Loftus-Cheek and allowing Yohan Cabaye to depart for the Middle East.
So that is why Roy Hodgson’s side are scouring the market for reinforcements. The Mail reported on Wednesday that there were a number of midfielders on Palace’s radar, including Chelsea’s £30 million forgotten man Danny Drinkwater and German international free-agent Max Meyer.
The Mail added that Crystal Palace also made a bid to sign 22-year-old Marko Grujic on loan from Liverpool. But it seems that he is one talented midfielder that Hodgson will not get his hands on.
According to The Express, Grujic is set to reject the chance to move to Selhurst Park in order to seal a second spell at Cardiff City.

The Serbian youngster, who arrived Anfield for £5.1 million from Red Star Belgrade but has made just eight Premier League appearances in two years, moved to South Wales on loan in January and impressed as Neil Warnock’s side were promoted to the top flight.
And Warnock has revealed to The Express that Grujic is on the verge of becoming a Cardiff player again.

“Liverpool have made it clear they’d like Marko to come with us and there is an agreement in place,” said the former Sheffield United and Leeds boss.
Crystal Palace, then, appear to have left it just too late.
