Bayer Leverkusen’s Havertz was a revelation in the Bundesliga last season but don’t expect him to play Premier League football for Liverpool any time soon.

Liverpool are one of three European giants interested in Bayer Leverkusen wonder-kid Kai Havertz, according to Bild.
Of course they are. In fact, it would have been a bigger surprise if they weren’t. With Jurgen Klopp in the dugout and Michael Edwards pulling strings from above, the recently-crowned Champions of Europe have made a habit of signing Europe’s most promising, under-the-radar gems just before they explode into the mainstream.
Think Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Gini Wijnaldum.
Havertz, albeit the youngest of the lot at just 20, is in the same boat. A play-maker compared to Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil thanks to his in-built ability to spot the perfect pass, Havertz is arguably the best of another impressive German generation.
He scored 20 goals last season as a teenager, dragging an inconsistent Leverkusen side into the Champions League. His quality has never been in question but his confidence and leadership skills, evident in the way he strokes penalties into the net almost with his eyes closed, highlights a truly elite talent.
No wonder Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona want him.

Though Havertz has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Leverkusen this summer. the general consensus being that he’ll spend one more year at the Bay Arena.
“For me, it has been clear for a long time that I will be at Leverkusen next season,” Havertz told Süddeutsche Zeitung this week.”I feel very good here. I can definitely say that Leverkusen is the right place for me.”
Another year filled with sublime performances and barely-believable goals, however, and he could maybe be on his way to Anfield.
