Kerim Demirbay shone for Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim on Tuesday night against Lyon, no wonder Premier League giants Liverpool are keen.

An ill-timed injury wrecked any hopes Kerim Demirbay might have had of sealing a move to a European giant in the summer transfer window. But the German international has returned to first-team action for Hoffenheim of late and is making up for lost time.
Demirbay has set up three goals in his last four games, including in the Champions League game against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. And he produced arguably his best performance in Hoffenheim’s latest European outing on Tuesday, causing Lyon no end of problems in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Rhein Neckar Arena.
So Liverpool’s scouts will surely have been impressed.
According to Turkish Football, Liverpool are long-standing suitors of the 25-year-old and they sent scouts to watch him in action against Lyon in midweek, as did a number of other clubs.

Jurgen Klopp knows Demirbay well too. The 2017 Confederations Cup winner spent two years in Borussia Dortmund’s youth team before leaving the Signal Iduna Park for Hamburg four years ago.
According to Bild, Demirbay has an affordable release clause of £28 million in his contract. And his driving runs and ability to score and create from midfield could mark him out as a potential alternative to the likes of Aaron Ramsey or Adrian Rabiot.
