Neil Etheridge has been linked with Premier League clubs like Aston Villa and Liverpool since being relegated with Cardiff City.

Liverpool are interested in signing Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, according to Wales Online.
The newly-crowned Champions of Europe are expected to sell Simon Mignolet this summer so they will need to find a new back-up shot-stopper with Werder Bremen’s Jiri Pavlenka and departing West Ham ace Adrian linked with a move to Anfield of late.
Wales Online, however, believe that Etheridge has emerged as another potential option with Liverpool making an enquiry about the availability of the 66-cap Filipino international.
The former Fulham youngster was in superb form throughout 2018/19, producing a number of outstanding performances though that wasn’t enough to save Cardiff from dropping out of the Premier League 12 months after they arrived.
But Wales Online reports that Etheridge has another Premier League club in his sights.

Aston Villa saw an £8 million bid rejected for the 29-year-old this week and they are expected to make a new offer in the near future. And the report claims that Villa Park is Etheridge’s preferred destination, perhaps due to a guarantee of first-team football.
The prospect of a move to Liverpool must be tempting but Etheridge will be fully aware that he’d likely be stuck on the bench behind Alisson Becker.
