Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League runners-up Liverpool have been tracking Andre Cardoso since 2017 and now look likely to sign him.

Liverpool have emerged as a ‘likely destination’ for Sporting Lisbon starlet Andre Cardoso, according to Jornal Madeira.
Sporting boast one of the most impressive academies anywhere in European football, with ten of the 14 players who featured for Portugal in the Euro 2016 final rising through the ranks at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
More recently, Gelson Martins and Rafael Leao have made their name in the Portuguese capital before joining Atletico Madrid and Lille respectively. And reports from Iberia suggest that Cardoso could be about to follow in their footsteps.
Still a teenager, Cardoso joined Sporting Lisbon when he was just 12 years old but JM claims that the Madeira-born talent is set to make the move to England in the near future with Liverpool emerging as the frontrunners for his signature.

Cardoso is a centre forward by trade but he can also play in a more withdrawn number ten position. He has also represented Portugal at U16 level.
And he could be another exciting talent to join a Liverpool side who boast some of the brightest young talents in English football. Record claimed back in 2017 that the Merseyside giants were interested, along with Bayern Munich, and Cardoso had a £4 million release clause in his contract.
