Ligue 1 star Hassaini could become the third teenager to sign for Liverpool this summer after Harvey Elliott and Sepp Van der Berg.
Liverpool are ‘well positioned’ to sign free agent Bilel Hassaini, according to FootMercato, after joining Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the coveted free agent.
France continues to churn out wonder-kid after wonder-kid right now and, with St Etienne defender William Saliba heading to Arsenal in a £27 million deal (BBC), another 18-year-old could also be on his way to the Premier League.
Though Hassaini will come a lot cheaper than Saliba. The dazzling right winger is now available for free after his contract at Nancy ran down at the start of July.
And Hassaini’s new-found availability hasn’t gone unnoticed. Arsenal and PSG have expressed an interest though Liverpool have now barged them out of the way and lead the race, according to FootMercato.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that the Champions of Europe won’t be spending obscene sums to strengthen an already excellent squad this summer but talented teenagers are always welcome at Anfield.
17-year-old Sepp Van den Berg has arrived from PEC Zwolle while Fulham’s Harvey Elliott, the youngest player in Premier League history, is set to sign too. Hassaini would be the third teenager signed by Liverpool in the space of a few weeks.
And there are few better managers for the former France U17 international to learn from than a coach who turned Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane into world class forwards.
