Joel Ribeiro could reporteldy move to Premier League runners-up Liverpool from Grasshoppers, although Serie A trio Inter Milan, Atalanta and Torino are keen.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp smiles during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on August 25, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Liverpool could add another talented central midfielder to their squad this summer with the Premier League runners-up expressing an interest in Swiss starlet Joel Ribeiro, according to Calciomercato.

The Reds made added both Naby Keita and Fabinho to their squad last summer, paying over £40 million apiece to sign the duo from RB Leipzig and Monaco respectively.

Ribeiro’s arrival obviously would not dominate the headlines in the same way that Keita and Fabinho did given that he is yet to prove himself at the top level of the European game, however. He would be ‘one for the future’ rather than a player capable of immediately improving Jurgen Klopp’s first team squad.

Though that is not to say he would not be an inspired addition with a number of clubs in Italy, including Inter Milan, Atalanta and Torino, all interested in signing the young play-maker from Swiss outfit Grasshoppers.

Ribeiro, who can also play as a left winger or as a second striker, will be a free agent this summer and the team who wins the race for his signature could claim one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from Swiss football in many a year.
