Dael Fry started 33 Championship games for Boro last season but could he join Premier League runners-up Liverpool this summer?

Liverpool are big fans of highly-rated Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry, according to the Northern Echo, and have been keeping an eye on the England U21 international for some time.
A Boro-born 21-year-old who has risen through the ranks at the Riverside, Fry was one of the few bright sparks of a disappointing 2018/19 which saw one of the Championship’s most talented squads miss out on a place in the play-offs.
The youngster made 33 starts in the second tier, impressing both at centre-half and left-back while helping to fill the void left by departed captain Ben Gibson.
And the Northern Echo claims that Fry has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while now with the Champions of Europe keeping an eye on some of the brightest talents anywhere on the continent.

The report adds that it is not clear yet whether Jurgen Klopp’s side will make a bid for Fry this summer.
But, despite beating Tottenham to claim their sixth European crown, some added depth at centre-half would not go amiss with Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez suffering from plenty of injury problems in recent months.
