Liverpool are interested in signing the talented Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar during the summer, as reported by TEAMtalk.

Injuries to both Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren have exposed the lack of depth available to Jurgen Klopp in defence in recent months. As a result, the Sun reports that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is determined to make some much-needed additions in the off-season.

And, after links with Diego Llorente and Matthias Ginter, Skriniar is the latest highly-rated defender tipped to make the move to Anfield.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are big fans of the Slovakia international but they will face competition from the rest of the Premier League’s top six.

Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the clubs who sent scouts to watch Skriniar as his country lost 1-0 to Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

The former Sampdoria defender might have been lined up as Toby Alderweireld’s replacement with TEAMtalk adding that Inter are ready to sell for £30 million.

Skriniar joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 and has since established himself as one of the world’s very best centre-backs. It would be a major surprise if Inter were willing to cash in, especially given that he is under contract until 2022.
