A number of sides, including Championship hopefuls Norwich City, are reportedly tracking Liverpool FC’s Acevedo.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Norwich City are just three of the clubs scouting Uruguay midfielder Nicolas Acevedo, according to the Sun.

The 19-year-old has arguably been the best player at the South American U20 Championships, which is taking place in Chile and runs until next month. Uruguay are one game away from securing their place in the final stage with Acevedo starring at the heart of their team.

And it is understood that his performances have caught the eye of numerous Premier League scouts with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester giants City and United all interested in a player who has been likened to Lucas Torreira.

Interestingly, Norwich City are also interested.

The Canaries are currently second in the Championship with a side made up of promising young talents and left-field signings. Acevedo, like Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Todd Cantwell, could be a good fit under the former Borussia Dortmund II coach Daniel Farke.

The teenager currently plays in Uruguay for a Montevideo-based outfit called, wait for it, Liverpool FC.

So Jurgen Klopp’s namesakes may be hoping that is a good omen.
