Serie B outfit Bari were reportedly hoping to raise £4m from Liam Henderson, who only arrived from Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic in January.

Brendan Rodgers’ decision to omit and then sell Liam Henderson in the January transfer window could prove to be a decision Celtic regret for years to come.
After all, the Scottish Premiership champions agreed to let the 22-year-old midfielder move to Serie B outfit Bari for a miniscule fee of just £115,000. But after just half a season in Italy, Henderson’s value skyrocketed to £4 million, according to the Daily Record.
Italian giants Fiorentina had even made a £2 million bid to bring Henderson to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
But, in a cruel twist of fate, Bari will now be denied the chance to make any profit on the former Hibernian loanee. As reported by the Daily Record, The Cockerels missed the deadline to register for Serie B after failing to meet financial requirements. They will now be made bankrupt and forced to start again in the regional leagues, just weeks after losing in the Serie B play-offs.

As a result, it is understood that Bari’s players, including Henderson, will now be released from their contract. This means the Scotland U21 ace, who played just 17 times for the club, will now be a free agent.
It remains to be seen where he rocks up next. Henderson was linked with other Italian top flight sides other than Fiorentina while, interestingly, TuttoCalcioPuglia claimed that Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts were keen too.
