Djene Dakonam wants to leave La Liga outfit Getafe for the Premier League with Watford, West Ham United and Leicester City all being linked.

Leicester City have identified Getafe powerhouse Djene Dakonam as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire, according to the Express, although The Foxes will face competition from West Ham United and Watford.
With Manchester United’s high-profile pursuit of England international Maguire likely to drag on until the very end of the transfer window, Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester appear to be preparing for the worst-case scenario.
But there are worse replacements than giant Togo defender Djene. He burst onto the scene with an outstanding 2018/19 season in La Liga, helping Getafe qualify for the Europa League after spending much of the campaign in the top four.
According to the Express, the late-blooming 27-year-old is determined to strike while the iron is hot by sealing a move to the Premier League in the next week or so. Djene, who is available for £18 million despite a £31 million release-clause in his contract, has told his Getafe teammates that he is desperate to leave the Coliseum Alfonso Perez at the height of his fame.

£18 million looks like a bargain in this day and age and Djene’s desire to leave Madrid hasn’t gone unnoticed at West Ham or Watford either.
France Football reported 12 months ago that Leicester were prepared to pay £30 million for Djene after making contract with his representatives. And Maguire’s potential departure could be the push they need to get this long-awaited deal over the line.
