Newcastle United and Leicester City are the latest Premier League clubs linked with Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Danny Drinkwater’s move to Chelsea last summer went about as well as anyone expected. With the likes of Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante and £40 million Tiemoue Bakayoko for competition, the 28-year-old was restricted to just five Premier League starts.
And reports in the Standard that Chelsea have opened talks with Inter Milan over the potential signing of Uruguay international Mattias Vecino will only push Drinkwater further down the pecking order.
It is reported that new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri would prefer Vecino in his midfield over Drinkwater, while Jorginho has already arrived from Napoli. Although this is good news for the number of Premier League clubs who have shown an interest in signing the England international.
Reports from TEAMtalk claim that Leicester City are keen to re-sign a player who was crucial to their remarkable Premier League title success of 2016.

The Foxes would allegedly be interested in signing Drinkwater on loan with a view to a permanent deal, but would only be willing to pay £20 million for a player they sold for £35 million last summer.
It is reported that Newcastle United have also made an enquiry about the former Manchester United youngster. But, with money tight at St James’ Park, the Magpies would probably have to wait for Aleksandar Mitrovic to seal his move to Fulham in order to fund a deal for Drinkwater.
