Brendan Rodgers is already planning a raid on his former club with the new Leicester City boss keen to bring Callum McGregor and James Forrest with him from Celtic, according to the Times.

Rodgers caused a stir north of the border yesterday when he suddenly bid farewell to the Scottish Premiership champions despite the fact there are still three months left in the season.

He was confirmed as the new manager of Leicester before the Foxes’ 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday night.

A number of Celtic supporters were left disappointed by Rodgers’ decision to walk away and the Northern Irishman could further sully his legacy north of the border, with the Times reporting that he is keen to reunite with McGregor and Forrest in the summer.

The homegrown duo played the best football of their career under Rodgers and the report believes they could fetch a combined fee of £25 million.
