Youri Tielemans looks set to become Leicester City’s new record signing with the Premier League outfit holding talks with Ligue 1 giants Monaco.

Leicester City are ‘making progress’ in the pursuit of Youri Tielemans as they look to bring the Monaco star back to the King Power Stadium for what is expected to be a club-record transfer fee, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian international spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester and he didn’t wait long to remind everyone why he was once viewed as one of Europe’s most exciting midfield talents.
The now-21-year-old put himself in the shop window again with three goals and four assists in 13 Premier League games. Tielemans was a revelation under Brendan Rodgers with his vision, movement and wonderful technique really catching the eye.
As a result, Monaco are looking to take full advantage by making a massive profit on a player they signed from Anderlecht just 12 months ago.
The Telegraph claims that Tielemans is valued at £40 million, meaning Leicester would have to break their transfer record by about £10 million. This won’t stop them, however, with The Foxes apparently maintaining contact and making positive progress in negotiations.

Leicester might have expected to face more competition with Het Laaste Nieuws claiming that he was also a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
But with Spurs set to sign Tanguy Ndombele while continuing to monitor Donny Van de Beek and Nicolo Zaniolo (Telegraph), and with United eyeing other gifted midfielders too, Leicester now have a golden chance.
