Nahitan Nandez shone for Uruguay at the World Cup and could reportedly be on his way to the Premier League with Leicester City in January.

Leicester City are interested in signing Uruguay World Cup star Nahitan Nandez in the final week of the January transfer window, according to TYC Sports.
The 23-year-old midfielder is currently contracted to Argentina powerhouses Boca Juniors and was expected to join Serie A outfit Cagliari this month. But negotiations have hit an impasse, which has allowed Leicester to nose their way into the situation.
Marca now claims that the 2016 Premier League champions have now asked for a meeting with Nandez’s representatives as they look to lure him to the King Power Stadium.
But what would Nandez bring to Claude Puel’s side?
A tenacious and well-rounded midfielder, the former Penarol man started four out of Uruguay’s five games as they reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup and impressed with his tidy distribution and relentless work-rate.

If he can replicate the impact his international partner Lucas Torreira has made since joining Arsenal from Sampdoria, Nandez would quickly become a fans’ favourite at the King Power Stadium.
The South American is the second deep-lying enforcer to be linked with Leicester recently. Calciomercato claimed on Friday that The Foxes were planning a £23 million bid for Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka.
