Jack Grealish has shone in the Championship with Aston Villa and has been offered a return to the Premier League with Leicester City.

Jack Grealish of Aston Villa celebrates after scoring during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Cardiff City at Villa Park on April 10, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

Jack Grealish aims to remain at Aston Villa next season amid reports of a big-money move to Leicester City, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Grealish has blossomed into a far more consistent performer under Steve Bruce at Aston Villa this season and has been central to the club’s promotion hopes. The 22-year-old has scored three goals and set up another five in arguably his most impressive spell since breaking into the first-team under Tim Sherwood in 2015/16.

And the Mirror claimed that Grealish’s recent displays had attracted the interest of Leicester, who may need a new creative fulcrum this summer with both Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray once again tipped to depart.

The report stated that The Foxes were willing to pay £20 million for Grealish.

But after Villa manager Bruce ridiculed that reported transfer fee, claiming that his fleet-footed talisman was worth double in today’s market, the Birmingham Mail has now aimed to calm supporters’ fears over Grealish’s future.

The report points out that he is a boyhood Aston Villa fan and has enjoyed regular game time this season – meaning he wants to stay in the Midlands even in the club miss out on promotion back to the Premier League.

Whether this decision is taken out of his hands, however, remains to be seen. The Mirror claimed that Villa will need to cut costs if they fail in the play-offs and Grealish would be one of their most saleable assets.
