Swansea City could be relegated from the Premier League, which could affect Leeds United’s hopes of bringing Kyle Bartley back to Elland Road.

Leeds United’s chances of signing Kyle Bartley this summer might just have taken a hit.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Swansea City could let the defender go should they retain their Premier League status. But that looks unlikely right now, particularly after a 1-0 defeat to relegation rivals Southampton on Tuesday left them in the drop zone with just one game to go.
And the YEP is now reporting that Swansea would look to keep Bartley if they fail to save their Premier League status and drop into the Championship after seven years in the top flight.

Interestingly though, the report suggests that Leeds are not willing to give up yet on a major transfer target, even if a deal may be more difficult than initially hoped.
The YEP claims that Leeds will maintain their interest in the towering centre-back regardless of which division Swansea find themselves in. The West Yorkshire giants allegedly see Bartley, who starred during a loan spell at Elland Road in 2016/17, as a real marquee signing this summer.

And it is understood that the former Arsenal youngster would be willing to return to the Championship giants, having enjoyed the best season of a stop-start career with the club.
The fact that Leeds are not willing to give up this easily is certainly a positive sign, with the underachieving Whites keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of last summer.
