Wes Foderingham has started one Scottish Premiership game for Rangers this season, could reportedly move to the Championship with Leeds United.

Wes Foderingham of Rangers looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers FC and Celtic FC at Ibrox Stadium on September 23, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Wes Foderingham’s three-year spell as Rangers’ number one goalkeeper came to an end immediately after Allan McGregor returned to Ibrox this summer.

The 27-year-old, who moved north of the border from Swindon Town in 2015, has played in just one of Rangers’ 13 Scottish Premiership games since Steven Gerrard took over in May. And reports from The Express say that Leeds United are hoping to take full advantage.

The Whites were dealt a goalkeeping crisis last week when Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman saw his Elland Road spell cut short thanks to a broken leg, just days before number one Bailey Peacock-Farrell suffered an injury in training.

20-year-old Will Huffer was called upon to make his senior bow in Saturday’s 2-0 home win against Bristol City but, according to The Express, Leeds are looking to bring in a more senior option in the New Year.

It is reported that Foderingham is on their radar, though the Championship promotion-chasers would have to pay a transfer fee as Rangers are unwilling to let him leave on loan.

Marcelo Bielsa’s sides are renowned for their ability to play out from the back, meaning Foderingham’s tidy distribution makes him a good fit in West Yorkshire.
