Liverpool look set to loan out a whole host of their most exciting young talent this summer with Ryan Kent, Ovie Ejaria, Sheyi Ojo and Ben Woodburn all tipped to depart Anfield on a temporary basis.

And Pedro Chirivella could also be heading elsewhere as he aims to get some first-team football under his belt. According to Goal, a number of Championship clubs are interested in the 21-year-old Spaniard with Leeds United among them.

Big things were expected of Chrivella when Liverpool signed the then Valencia youth captain in 2013, beating off competition from a number of European giants. But the former Spain U17 ace has made just five first-team appearances for the Reds since, the last coming in a 3-1 defeat to Swansea City in May 2016 in which he started his only Premier League game.

Chirivella has also spent the last two seasons on loan in the Eredivisie. His Go Ahead Eagles side were relegated in 2017 but he enjoyed a far more successful spell at Willem II in the campaign just gone, starting 30 league games as his team finished 13th.

A central midfielder renowned for his ability to win back possession and start attacks from deep, Chirivella would compete with the likes of Adam Forshaw, Eunan O’Kane, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira for a place in Leeds’ starting XI.

When signing for Liverpool in 2013, Chirivella was compared to former Anfield legend Xabi Alonso and nicknamed ‘the computer’ by former academy director Frank MacParland for his ability to read the game, as reported by the Mail.
