Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi is set to join Spanish second tier side Cultural Leonesa on loan before joining up with Leeds.
Leeds United fans will have to be patient before they find out what the club’s new January signing is all about.
As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, work permit issues mean Leeds will have to loan Japanese international midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi out to another European club in January before he is allowed to start plying his trade in England. And this is where Leeds’ sister club comes in.
It had been expected that former Gamba Osaka star Ideguchi would move to Spanish second tier club Cultural Leonesa in January and, according to Diario de Leon, the 21-year-old is indeed on the verge of a switch to the Segunda division.
The report claims that Ideguchi will play for Leonesa until the end of this season, when he will then make that much-anticipated move to Elland Road.
Spanish paper AS claimed earlier in the week that Leonesa were impressed by Ideguchi, an all-round midfielder renowned for his ball-winning abilities but also blessed with an eye for goal. And they will be hoping that the former Gamba Osaka star does a little better than Ouasim Bouy did in a forgettable few months on the Mediterranean.
Reyournal claimed last week that Moroccan midfielder Bouy, who Leeds picked up on a free from Juventus over the summer, was set to see his loan move terminated in January after playing just 56 minutes of league football for Leonesa.
It is fair to say Ideguchi will not have to do much to make a better impression.
