Arsenal-owned goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is wanted by Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, but Championship giants Leeds United are closing.

Leeds United are willing to let Andy Lonergan leave for Championship rivals Sunderland this month, provided that they can secure a replacement.
The Yorkshire Evening Post stated that Leeds were considering a move for Liverpool’s forgotten man Adam Bogdan, but it appears they have now turned their attention towards another seldom-seen shot-stopper contracted to a Premier League giant.

The perennial loanee is spending the season at La Liga side Getafe but has struggled for game-time, making only three appearances in Spain’s top flight. So AS reports that Martinez wants to leave this month with a return to England on the cards.
It is understood that Crystal Palace have made an enquiry about signing the 25-year-old from their London rivals Arsenal, who Martinez has represented just 13 times since making his senior debut back in 2012.

Palace have been on the lookout for a new number one all month but failed to seal the long-awaited signing of Getafe’s Vicente Guaita. Now, in an odd turn of events, it seems they have turned their attention towards the man Guaita is keeping out of the starting XI.
But AS understands that Leeds are currently the frontrunners to sign the highly-rated shot-stopper in the January window. The question, however, is whether Martinez can force his way into Thomas Christiansen’s side or whether he’s set for another few months on the bench.
