It seems unlikely that Pawel Cibicki will be playing Championship football for Leeds United next season with a move to Poland beckoning.

After just one season at Leeds United, Pawel Cibicki is expected to leave this summer.

The highly-rated striker arrived at Elland Road from Swedish side Malmo last August for a fee of around £1.5 million. And fans were expecting big things from Cibicki, especially as both Ajax and Leeds’ bitter rivals Manchester United had been scouting him just a few months previously, according to the Sun.

But, like so many of the signings made last summer by director of football Victor Orta, Cibicki struggled to settle in England.

The 24-year-old made just seven Championship starts last season and did not play a single minute of football once Paul Heckingbottom replaced Thomas Christiansen in the dugout in February.

And Polish publication Legia Net is now reporting that Cibicki could be on his way this summer, with reigning Ekstraklasa champions Legia Warsaw allegedly keen to offer him an escape route from his West Yorkshire nightmare.

Interestingly, Cibicki was pictured at Legia’s clash with Wisla Plock on Wednesday night, so it remains to be seen whether a deal is already edging closer.

These reports come just one day after Cibicki was left out of Leeds’ 22-man squad for the controversial post-season trip to Myanmar.
