Laurens de Bock only arrived at Elland Road in January but has made just seven Championship appearances for Leeds United.
Laurens de Bock was nowhere to be seen as Leeds United started the new Championship campaign with a bang, cruising to a deserved 3-1 win against Stoke City on Sunday afternoon. And that does not bode well at all for a player who has been linked with a move away from Elland Road all summer.
The Belgian arrived in West Yorkshire from Club Brugge back in January for £1.5 million but did not exactly set the world alight. He started just seven games, struggled badly in clashes with Millwall and Reading before missing the final stretch of the season through injury.
And now that Leeds have signed Barry Douglas from Wolves, whose assist tally of 14 from was the joint-best in the Championship throughout 2017/18, it appears to have forced De Bock down the pecking order.
So much so that, according to HLN, there is a chance that De Bock could even leave before the English transfer window shuts on Thursday.
It is reported that the left-back wants a solution to what appears to have become a problem for him at Elland Road.
It could even be argued that youngster Tom Pearce is the first-choice back-up to Douglas, meaning De Bock might not have a place in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans.
