Championship giants Leeds United could reportedly still bring Carpi’s Serie B striker Jerry Mbakogu to Elland Road in the summer transfer window.

The links between Leeds United and Jerry Mbakogu are still going on over in Italy.
The Championship giants have been tipped to sign the Carpi striker since the start of the year and are apparently still keen to bring him to Elland Road.

And Tuttomercatoweb has provided a quite intriguing update on Thursday.
It is understood that Carpi and Leeds are still in talks about thrashing out a deal for the Nigerian-born frontman. Though Leeds have suddenly thrown a curveball into the mix.
It has been reported that they want a discount on Mbakogu given that he has struggled with injuries over the last few months, starting just once in Italy’s second tier since all the way back in February.

Overall, Mbakogu scored eight times in 26 games in Serie B in 2017/18 as Carpi missed out on promotion to the top tier.
The club’s president has said that Leeds have until the end of this month to get the deal done and it remains to be seen now whether Carpi are willing to let Mbakogu leave for less than previously expected.
