Leeds United are understood to be in talks over signing Kasimpasa’s Turkish Super Lig goal-scorer Mbaye Diagne.

Leeds United’s search for a striker could be about to get a lot more frustrating.
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently poured cold water over speculation linking Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez to Elland Road. Their wages, understood to be in excess of £35,000-a-week, caused Leeds to cool their interest.
And reports from Turkish Football are claiming that even Mbaye Diagne could prove a little beyond Leeds’ budget.
The West Yorkshire club are in talks with the Senegalese striker, who scored 12 goals in 17 games since arriving at Kasimpasa from the Chinese Super League in January, although no formal offer has been made at this stage.
Diagne would come far cheaper than the £11 million-rated Vydra, not to mention Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia or Middlesbrough’s Britt Assombalonga.

Turkish Football say that Leeds have been informed that Diagne’s price-tag stands at £3.6 million with Kasimpasa prepared to sell. But, the report adds, the 26-year-old’s wages could become a problem should the talks reach an advanced stage.
This does not bode well for Leeds, who also look set to miss out on the Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon. Despite matching Derby County’s bid, The Sun claims that the 27-year-old is now undergoing a medical at Pride Park.
