Lee Hodson has struggled for opportunities since moving to the Scottish Premiership with Rangers back in the summer of 2016.

Lee Hodson has barely had a look in since joining Rangers in the summer of 2016.

The Northern Ireland international arrived at Ibrox from MK Dons but, thanks largely to the excellent form of James Tavernier (below), he has found regular starts very difficult to come by.

Hodson has been in the starting XI for just five Scottish Premiership games this season after managing 11 in 2016/17.

So it should come as little surprise that the Daily Record believes he could be sold this summer despite having another year remaining on his contract with the Glasgow giants.

Hodson has struggled with injuries at times this season but, even when fit, he has been largely overlooked by the three permanent managers he has played under at Rangers: Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha had current incumbent Graeme Murty.

The versatile former Watford defender can also fill in at left-back if required but, with Declan John making that position his own and Lee Wallace set to return from injury, it is difficult to see where the 5ft 7ins ace fits in.

So a move away could be the best decision for all parties. And, despite struggling to make an impact at Rangers, there should not be a shortage of clubs below the border willing to take a chance on an experienced and adaptable defender.
