Celtic might cash in on centre-back Dedryck Boyata this summer, with Belgium’s World Cup ace a reported target for Serie A giants Lazio.

How much should Celtic be willing to accept for Dedryck Boyata this summer?
He might be a fully-fledged Belgium international and approaching his peak at the age of 27, but it is worth remembering that Boyata is out of contract in a year. And he is hardly a universally popular player at Parkhead, with his propensity for ill-timed errors earning him the rather harsh nickname ‘bomb scare’ among some sections of the support.
According to Italian publication Radio Sei, Lazio could be willing to offer up to £7 million for the former Manchester City centre-back. And that is the sort of fee Celtic should bite their hand off for.

After all, Boyata is set to become a free agent in 12 months, but Lazio’s desperation for a new defender means they seem to be willing to pay a rather hefty sum. And, in truth, £7 million looks a little step for Boyata, even in today’s out of control transfer market.
It remains to be seen, however, whether or not Celtic are willing to sell.

He has his critics but Boyata remains a key part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad, starting 28 league games last season as Celtic won a seventh successive Scottish Premiership title. And the Hoops have already sold Erik Sviatchenko this summer.
£7 million, however, might simply be too good to turn down.
