Nottingham Forest are in the midst of a rebuild with Luke Steele, Liam Bridcutt, Michael Hefele and Daryl Murphy expected to go.

Stade Rennais' newly recruited French head coach Sabri Lamouchi smiles during a press conference on November 9, 2017 at Roazhon park stadium in Rennes.

Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has informed Michael Hefele, Daryl Murphy, Liam Bridcutt and Luke Steele that they all have no future at Nottingham Forest as long as he is at the helm, as reported by the Nottingham Post.

Today marks the two-week anniversary since the former Rennes and Ivory Coast boss replaced Martin O’Neill at the City Ground and it’s fair to say he hasn’t taken long to put his own stamp on the club.

Six players have arrived already with Lamouchi seemingly playing a very active role in recruitment, convincing Albert Adomah to sign after a face-to-face meeting in which he regaled the former Aston Villa winger with tales about the history of this two-time European winning football team (Bristol Post).

And his next task is to get rid of the deadwood from a very bloated squad.

The Post claims that four senior players, who will not travel to Greece for pre-season training, have been told in no uncertain terms that they need to leave.

This is unlikely to come as much of a shock to many Forest fans, given that Bridcutt, Steele and Hefele were hardly regulars last season, the latter making just 13 Championship starts after his move from Huddersfield Town.

Veteran striker Murphy, meanwhile, really doesn’t seem to fit into the quick, technical style Lamouchi wants to introduce with his 6ft 3ins frame and strength in the air.
