Juventus are desperate to sell third-choice goalkeeper Mattia Perin in January and are hoping that Aston Villa return with a new offer for the out-of-favour Italian, as reported by Il Bianconero.

With Gianluigi Buffon making an emotional return to Turin and Wojciech Szczesny firmly established as the club’s number one between the sticks, everything was set up for Perin to go after just a single season with the Serie A champions.
But after he failed a medical at Benfica and Aston Villa turned their attention to Tom Heaton, the 26-year-old was left in the lurch. He hasn’t even been included in a matchday squad since Maurizio Sarri took over with a long-standing injury hardly helping his cause.
Therefore, Juve are apparently hopeful that Aston Villa will renew their interest in the former Genoa wonder-kid, who they bought for £10.6 million according to ESPN, in the New Year.
Yet this seems unlikely.
Dean Smith has four, yes four¸ senior goalkeepers on his books right now with Jed Steer, Orjan Nyland and Croatian international Lovre Kalinic all stuck behind the evergreen Heaton. Villa won’t be adding another unless Nyland or Kalinic go.
Monaco, who have conceded more than two goals a game this season and sit in the Ligue 1 relegation zone, might be a more likely destination. So too Sporting Lisbon, who are seventh in Portugal’s top flight with six games played.
