Andre Silva scored his first Serie A goal for AC Milan on Sunday but does that impact Wolverhampton Wanderers’ hopes of bringing him to Molineux?

It has been a depressing debut season for Andre Silva at AC Milan since his £34 million move from FC Porto last summer. And speculation has intensified that he could be on his way out already.
Ambitious Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers had also been linked with an eye-popping swoop for Silva. Calciomercato claimed that Wolves, financed by Chinese investors Fosun International, would make Portugal’s first-choice centre-forward their primary target when promoted to the Premier League.

Although O Jogo adds that Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso, who was appointed to replace Vincenzo Montella in the autumn, is determined to give Silva a fresh start and the chance to prove he belongs at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

After Silva finally struck his first Serie A goal at the 17th time of asking – a dramatic stoppage time winner against Genoa on Sunday afternoon – he will be hoping that this will be a turning point in his career at the San Siro.
Gattuso wants Silva to stay but, with Wolves prepared to pay big, the Milan manager’s opinion may not count for much if the Serie A giants receive an offer they simply cannot refuse.
