Steve Bruce has admitted that he wanted John Terry back at Championship side Aston Villa.

Another day, another dramatic twist in the ongoing John Terry transfer saga.
His proposed return to Aston Villa has seen more on-again-off-again moments than a 90s American sitcom in recent weeks. And latest reports suggest that Terry and Villa will not be getting together after all.
The Daily Star claimed on Thursday that the 37-year-old would jump at the chance to return to Villa Park after rejecting a move to Russian giants Spartak Moscow during the week.
But the same publication have reported just 24 hours later that the move has ran into problems. It is claimed that Terry is demanding wages of £65,000 a week- but Aston Villa’s owners are only willing to pay him £30,000, less than half.
And the Star believes that the deal is likely to fall apart with both parties seemingly miles apart as things stand.

This will come as a disappointment to Steve Bruce, who has been forced to use Mile Jedinak at centre-back and admitted on Friday that he would love to bring Terry back to the Second City.
Terry, who will turn 38 in December, started 35 Championship games last season and captained Villa to the play-off final, where they were beaten by Fulham at Wembley.
