Joe Dodoo was expected to be on his way out of Scottish Premiership giants Rangers this summer but Gerrard reportedly wants to keep him at Ibrox.

Joe Dodoo was expected to be one of the first players out the door as the Steven Gerrard revolution began at Rangers.
Rangers signed the speedy attacker on a four-year deal in the summer of 2016 after his Leicester City contract expired but after a bright start to life in Scotland, the 22-year-old soon slipped down the pecking order.

Dodoo made just six starts in all competitions in 2016/17 before featuring even more sporadically the following campaign. And his reputation was not helped by a forgettable loan spell at Charlton Athletic in the first half of last season, where he failed to start a single league match and made just five substitute appearances.

Gerrard will begin working at the Glasgow giants officially on Friday and it seems that Dodoo could be handed a clean slate and a chance to prove why he was once so highly-rated at Leicester.
Dodoo famously scored a hat-trick on his Foxes debut against Bury in the EFL Cup – and is clearly a player with potential. It remains to be seen, however, whether he can showcase these qualities over pre-season and start 2018/19 in Rangers’ first team plans.
