Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are reportedly keen on Charlton Athletic midfielder Aribo, as are Championship challengers Derby County.

Charlton Athletic are once again facing up to the prospect of losing one of their most exciting young talents.

According to the Independent, Joe Aribo is set to follow in the footsteps of Ademola Lookman, Joe Gomez and Ezri Konsa by bidding farewell to The Valley and there is no shortage of clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old midfielder.

It is understood that there is long-standing interest from Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, while Frank Lampard’s Championship promotion challengers Derby County are also keen.

The Independent adds that Aribo is set to leave in 2019 after rejecting Charlton’s latest offer of a new contract. His current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.

But it seems that Spurs, Southampton and Derby could all be disappointed. Inspired by the success of Jadon Sancho, Reiss Nelson and Lookman himself, it seems that Aribo is keen to swap England’s third tier for the Bundesliga, with high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt keen to bring him to the Commerzbank Arena.

Aribo, who moved to Charlton from Staines Town in 2015, is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January. Portuguese giants Benfica, who signed another young English midfielder in Chris Willock last year, are also interested.
