Crystal Palace’s hopes of luring Italy international Eder to the Premier League from Serie A giants Inter Milan have taken a hit.

Crystal Palace might have thought a deal to sign Inter Milan forward Eder would be a little easier than it is turning out to be.
Due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, Inter need to sell before they can buy this month and their interest in Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge means a number of fringe players are on the market in order to raise funds.
One of those appears to be Eder, the Brazilian-born Italy international who has not started a Serie A game all season under Luciano Spalletti.

But although Palace have expressed their interest, it appears that they are no closer to bringing the former Sampdoria schemer to Selhurst Park.
Inter’s sporting director Walter Sabatini appeared to pour cold water on suggestions that Eder could be a Crystal Palace player by the end of the month and Tuttomercatoweb now reports that the London club have had a bid rejected.

It is understood that they were willing to pay Inter about £2 million to sign Eder on loan, with a further £7 million if they wanted to make his deal permanent at the end of the season.
But Inter need the money now if they want to raise funds to bring Sturridge to the San Siro either on a permanent deal or through paying a rather substantial loan fee.
So Palace may have to change tack and offer all of the money up front if they want to enhance a thin forward line with the signing of the intelligent and technically gifted link man.
