Championship leaders Boro could be about to lose Danish international forward Martin Braithwaite, who reportedly wants to return to Ligue 1.

Martin Braithwaite has arguably been the star of the show so far this season for Middlesbrough.
Tony Pulis’ side are top of the Championship table and their Denmark international is a major reason why. Braithwaite has scored three goals in just four league games already, netting against Millwall, Sheffield United and in the 2-0 away win at Bristol City on Saturday.
So Boro fans would be very disappointed to see the former Toulouse man leave before the end of August. But it seems that this is a real possibility.
According to the Northern Echo, Braithwaite is hoping to return to France this summer.
The 27-year-old has plenty of experience in Ligue 1. He joined Toulouse from Esbjerg in 2013 and scored 35 goals in France’s top flight before making a £9 million move to Middlesbrough last summer.

Braithwaite then returned in January via a loan spell at Bordeaux, where he helped Gus Poyet’s side qualify for the Europa League.
Fortunately for Boro, however, the Northern Echo adds that they are in talks with Everton winger Yannick Bolasie and hope to seal a loan deal for the £28 million man before the weekend.
So Bolasie’s arrival would at least go some way to compensating for Braithwaite’s potential exit.
