League One Sunderland could be forced to let the high-earning Lee Cattermole go, with Hull City reportedly offering him a chance in the Championship.

Sunderland still have some business to attend to before the transfer window shuts.
The Sunderland Echo reports that the Black Cats are hoping to get a number of their high earners off the wage bill with Didier N’Dong, Papy Djilobodji and Bryan Oviedo, who set up the last-minute winner in Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 win against Charlton Athletic, all understood to be available.
And another player that Sunderland could be forced to get rid of is the long-serving Lee Cattermole.
The report claims that the midfielder’s wages are simply too high for a club in League One and it speaks volumes that Jack Ross left him out of that opening day win against Charlton.

The Sunderland Echo claims that Cattermole is a target for Championship outfit Hull City. The Tigers, however, would only want to sign him on loan at this stage, although the Black Cats should jump at the chance to get Cattermole off the wage bill for the next ten months or so.
Hull lost plenty of experience from their midfield this summer when Seb Larsson and David Meyler departed for AIK Solna and Reading respectively, meaning the former Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic ankle-biter could be a solid addition both on and off the pitch.
