Eric Lichaj is reportedly set to swap Nottingham Forest for Championship rivals Hull City.
After the departures of Chris Cohen, David Vaughan and Jack Hobbs, Nottingham Forest look set to bid farewell to another of their longest serving players.
Eric Lichaj has been a regular for Forest ever since arriving from Aston Villa in 2013, but the USA international is seemingly heading out the door this summer after five years of loyal service.
According to the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City have held talks with Nottingham Forest in the last week about potentially signing Lichaj this summer. And it is understood that Nigel Adkins’ side are increasingly confident that Lichaj will be wearing amber and black next season.
The report adds that Forest are willing to sell Lichaj and have slapped a bargain price-tag of just £400,000 on the defender’s head.
The Hull Daily Mail claims that this is unlikely to be a stumbling block in any potential deal, with the fee making Lichaj one of the most astute deals in this summer’s transfer market.
Lichaj is entering the final year of his contract at Forest and has shown a willingness to join Hull; perhaps as a result of losing his place to Tendayi Darikwa in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
And the former Leeds United loanee will be a welcome addition to a Hull side who have already lost experienced key players Allan McGregor, Michael Dawson, Abel Hernandez, David Meyler and Seb Larsson in recent weeks.
