Championship strugglers Hull are reportedly keen on the Central Coast Mariners star, as are League One duo Peterborough United and Scunthorpe.
With the January transfer window just a few weeks away, it is no surprise that Hull City appear to be looking at bringing another attacker to the KCom Stadium.
Hull have scored just 16 goals in 17 Championship games and, as a result, are in the relegation zone heading into the international break.
But could Connor Pain give Nigel Adkins’ side a much needed attacking spark? According to Aussie publication the World Game, Hull are rivalling League One duo Scunthorpe and Peterborough United for the signature of the Central Coast Mariners winger.
It is understood that Pain, who holds a UK passport, is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning the Mariners are facing up to the possibility of losing their star man on a free transfer.
Pain helped Mariners win the FFA Cup and has won one cap for Australia. The wide man, who can play on either flank, scored four goals and set up three more in 22 A-League games last season.
And, should he join Hull, he will reunite with his fellow Australian Jackson Irvine on Humberside.
