Premier League trio Everton, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are all understood to be interested in signing Defrel from AS Roma.

It seems that Gregoire Defrel is linked with a move to the Premier League on at least a few occasions every summer. And 2018 is no different.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are all interested in signing the French striker just one year after he joined Roma for £20 million.
It was Eusebio di Francesco who brought Defrel with him to the Stadio Olimpico from Serie A rivals Sassuolo. But the 27-year-old failed to live up to his hefty price-tag, managing just five league starts and two more as Roma reached the semi finals of the Champions League.
And it seems that Everton, Palace and West Ham – who could all do with some added depth in attack – might be in luck.

Italian publication Leggo points out that Edin Dzeko and Patrick Schick are both ahead of Defrel in the central striking position while the arrival of Justin Kluivert from Ajax means he could struggle to find opportunities out wide either.
Furthermore, Roma’s esteemed director of football Monchi has his heart set on signing Federico Chiesa, the young Italian international, from Fiorentina.
As a result, it is understood that Roma are likely to let Defrel leave this summer with a loan exit the most likely possibility. This could give Everton, Palace or West Ham the chance to ‘try before they buy’.
