Newly-promoted Premier League club Fulham are set to enter negotiations with local rivals Chelsea for Tomas Kalas.

Fulham reportedly have five transfer targets and they are all players the fans know very well.

According to Sky Sports, the newly-promoted Londoners are keen to sign the loanees that helped bring an end to their four-year exile from the Premier League: Aleksandar Mitrovic, Matt Targett, Oliver Norwood, Lucas Piazon and Tomas Kalas.

Interestingly, Fulham have the option to sign Kalas for £8.5 million after two successful seasons at Craven Cottage from west London neighbours Chelsea.

The 6ft Czech centre-back, who has made just two Premier League appearances in eight years at Stamford Bridge, has proved himself in English football at Fulham and was a regular in Slavisa Jokanovic’s defence since arriving in the summer of 2016.

Despite this, however, Sky Sports reports that Fulham do not want to pay £8.5 million for Kalas and are hoping to sign him for cheaper this summer.

Tomas Kalas of Fulham holds off Bobby Reid of Bristol City during the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Bristol City at Craven Cottage on October 31, 2017 in London, England.

Therefore, they are aiming to enter negotiations with Chelsea in order to try to land the 25-year-old on a reduced fee, but it remains to be seen whether the Premier League giants are willing to play ball.

Fulham will have to pay far more than £8.5 million if they want to land Mitrovic, however, with the Mirror (May 31, page 57) stating that Newcastle United want £20 million for a striker who scored 12 times in 18 starts on loan for the Cottagers.
