Premier League newcomers Fulham have reportedly made a club-record bid to sign Willian Jose from La Liga outfit Real Sociedad

Willian Jose is one of the most underrated strikers in La Liga – but it seems that Fulham are very much aware of the Brazilian’s goalscoring talents.
The former Real Madrid man enjoyed the best season of his career with Real Sociedad in 2017/18, scoring 20 goals in 40 games in all competitions. As a result, The Mail reports that Fulham have made a £26 million bid to sign Jose as The Cottagers look for alternatives to top target Aleksandar Mitrovic.
But Fulham will have to pay far more – and break their transfer record for a second time this summer – if they want to bring the 6ft 2ins targetman to Craven Cottage.
The report adds that Sociedad informed Fulham that they would not sell Jose for less than his £45 million buyout clause. The South American striker, then, would cost far more than the £25 million Fulham spent to lure Jean Michel Seri to West London earlier in July.

And he would be more expensive too than Mitrovic, who Newcastle United value at around £20 million according to the Standard.
26-year-old Willian Jose has scored 27 goals in the last two La Liga campaigns with La Real and was rewarded with a first ever Brazil call up for the friendlies against Russia and Germany in March.
