Andre Almeida’s seven Primeira Liga assists for Benfica this season have seen him linked with Premier League strugglers Fulham.

Fulham’s pursuit of a new right-back has taken them to Benfica’s Andre Almeida, according to O Jogo.
Cottagers manager Claudio Ranieri has made no secret of the need for a new right-sided defender this month, having confirmed that he does not see Manchester United loanee Timothy Fosu-Mensah as a key part of his plans, as reported by Sky Sports.
And O Jogo claims that Fulham have now made a £7 million bid for Almeida at the request of Ranieri himself.
It is understood that the West London outfit will not enter negotiations with Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira.
28-year-old Almeida has been plying his trade at the Estadio da Luz ever since joining from Belenenses in 2011, winning four Primeira Liga titles.

And the Portugal international has come on leaps and bounds in the last two seasons, contributing 13 assists in his 49 league appearances for Benfica since the start of the 2017/18 campaign.
It remains to be seen whether £7 million is enough to convince The Eagles to cash in, however, with the Iberian giants frequently demanding huge fees for their key men.
