When Pep Guardiola is a fan, you know you’ve got talent.

The Sun reported in August of last year that Guardiola’s Manchester City had made a £4.5 million bid to sign Fenerbahce youngster Oguz Kagan Guctekin, even before the midfielder had made his senior debut.

Fener rejected the bid however and, despite fellow interest from Tottenham and Arsenal, Guctekin remained in Turkey.

So with Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Arsene Wenger all admirers, fans of newly promoted Premier League outfit Fulham should be excited by reports that they are now trying to sign one of the most promising talents in Turkish football.

Hurriyet is reporting that the Cottagers have made a £3 million bid for the 19-year-old, which is now being considered by Fenerbahce.

This comes a day after The Mail stated that Fulham had sent their scouts to speak with the Turkey U19 captain’s representatives at the U19 European Championships in Finland.

Guctekin made eight Super Lig appearances for Fenerbahce last season as they finished second, three points behind Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.

Fulham have shown plenty of ambition in the transfer market this summer, breaking their transfer record to sign Jean-Michel Seri while bringing in German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle on a two-year loan from Borussia Dortmund.
