Premier League newcomers Fulham are reportedly interested in signing goalkeeper Fabricio from Super Lig outfit Besiktas.
Fulham sold goalkeeper David Button to Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday but it seems that they have a replacement lined up already.
Turkish outlet Sporx claimed last week that the Cottagers were hoping to sign Fabricio from Besiktas and were weighing up a bid somewhere in the region of £3 million. And it seems that their approach has stepped up a notch.
Sporx is now stating that Fulham have indeed made an offer, although this is understood to be around £4.5 million. Besiktas want closer to £7 million but, given that Fabricio is out of contract in a year, the chances are that they will cash in on him this summer.
The 30-year-old has been playing his football in Istanbul since joining from Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna in 2016. He also represented Real Valladolid and Real Betis in Spain’s top flight and made one appearance for his country’s U20 side.
The 6ft 1ins shot-stopper would be signed to provide competition for young Marcus Bettinelli at Craven Cottage. Bettinelli impressed last season and made the number one jersey his own after ousting Button between the sticks about halfway through the season.
